Hey fine ladies; did you know it’s familiarize yourself with the knowledge on how to clean your own makeup brushes at home? No one doubts that makeup brushes are not only stained with makeup, but also stained with the contaminants coming from skin of the person, body fat and dead cells. They all render makeup brushes become a haven for all sorts of bacteria. Eventually makeup brushes are not only any longer effective, in applying makeup, but can also spread infections to different parts of the skin.
Therefore, it is recommended to learn how to clean makeup brushes at the leisure of your home at least once a week. Unless the makeup brushes are heavily used everyday then daily clean up is recommended.
Generally, they are two types of makeup brushes; natural and synthetic. Natural makeup brushes are made from different types of animal hair such as horse, hare, goat, etc., while synthetic makeup brushes are made out of man made fibers such as taklon. Since they are made from different materials, the cleaning approach is also slightly different.
Natural Makeup Brushes:
Step 1 – Shake your brush to remove any loose debris.
Step 2 – Hold the brush with the big end down, put it under the tap and let it completely wet.
Step 3 – Put baby shampoo, a little bit of it, in your hand.
Step 4 – Make circular motions with the brush in the palm of your hand to remove the entire product.
Step 5 – Perfectly rinse your brush.
Step 6 – Rarely it’s all cleaned at first, so repeat the procedure as often as necessary.
Step 7 – Press a towel on the brush and “sweep” the brush gently to remove excess water.
Step 8 – Put in a bowl and let dry approximately two to three hours.
Synthetic Makeup Brushes:
Step 1 – You should know that synthetic makeup brushes retain more than powder makeup. This is why the first thing to do is apply a little olive oil on the brush to aid in shedding all these oils.
Step 2 – Once you’ve put olive oil on the brush, put it under the tap and let water drops fall on it until it’s thoroughly wet.
Step 3 – Rub the brush in circular motion in the palm of your hand so that absorbed makeup is thoroughly removed.
Step 4 – Put the brush under running water, pointing the main part down so that all the remaining debris falls from it.
Step 5 – With your fingers pull the hair of the brush and slide them out to finish cleaning perfectly.
Step 6 – Once done, put on baby or soft shampoo and do exactly the same procedure as you did with the olive oil.
Step 7 – Finally, shake the brush and let it dry in a container for two or three hours.
What you should NOT do!
* Do not strongly rub strongly the makeup brushes, they can lose their shape.
* Try not to wet the brush handle, it can rot or peel.
So now you know, if you’re looking to remove the imperfections of your skin, the first thing to consider is hygiene in makeup products you use.
